About
Hi, I’m Brett.
I started Bookkeeping Legacy because I kept seeing the same thing: contractors who were great at the work and dreading the books. I’m a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor (Level 2 is next), and I’m also working toward my CMA. I bring 5 years of in-house accounting experience to every engagement, so what you get isn’t just certifications. It’s real, hands-on experience with how businesses actually run their books.
Bookkeeping Legacy is remote and shaped around how contractors and small business owners actually operate: job costing, cash flow, numbers you can actually use instead of reports that sit unread. If you’d rather be building a legacy than reconciling, that’s exactly who I built this for.

Do you work with QuickBooks Online, or QuickBooks Desktop too?
QuickBooks Online only. Bookkeeping Legacy is built specifically around QBO, so if you’re currently on Desktop, migrating you over is usually the first step before we start working together.
I’m not on QuickBooks Online yet. Can you still help?
Yes. I can get you set up on QBO and moved over from whatever you’re using now, then we go from there.
Which tier do I need?
Most contractors start with Essentials or Growth. If you need to know what a specific job actually cost you, Growth is where job costing kicks in. Not sure? Book a free consult and we’ll figure it out together.
Do you do my taxes?
No, I’m a bookkeeper, not a tax preparer. My job is keeping your books clean and accurate all year, so whoever handles your taxes has real numbers to work from instead of a shoebox in April.
Is my financial data safe with a remote bookkeeper?
Yes. Where your bank supports it, I connect with read-only access, the same view-only permission many banks already offer accountants, so I can grab what I need for your books without asking you to dig up statements, and without ever being able to move money. Anything I do save stays in a secured, access-controlled account.
